MPS Store – Hire Terms & Conditions
By hiring equipment from the MPS Store you are automatically agreeing to the terms & conditions of this agreement as detailed below. Therefore, you must read this information sheet before taking out the hire.
If you have any questions relating to the terms & conditions please discuss them with a member of the MPS Store staff before taking out the hire.
If you do not wish to agree to the MPS Store terms & conditions please notify a member of MPS Store staff before taking out the hire.
- The hired Equipment can only be used in connection with UEL work directly related to research or assignments. Conversely, MPS hire Equipment cannot be used for any personal or professional work not directly connected with UEL research or assignments.
- We reserve the right to decline some or all of your hire request order, for any reason.
- We hire Equipment only to UEL Staff and ADI students. All hires to ADI staff and students are free. All hires to staff from Schools and Departments must have a prior agreement of the MPS management.
- The Equipment must be returned by the time specified on your Booking Advice Slip. If late, you will be charged £5.00 per item, thereafter £5.00 per item per day up to maximum of £50.00 per item. In addition, you will not be able to use any MPS facilities, book rooms or hire equipment for 7 days after you pay the fine. We may also refuse to hire Equipment to users who persistently return our Equipment late.
- If you are more than 30 minutes late for your room reservation, your booking might be assigned to another user.
- You will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that the Equipment is not damaged or misused during the period of the hire. This includes ensuring that the Equipment can safely be used with any other equipment that you use.
- You will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that any person operating or using the Equipment during the period of the hire is instructed in the safe and proper operation of the Equipment.
- You shall reimburse us for all costs in connection with repairing or replacing Equipment not returned in good condition, pay us the full replacement cost of any Equipment that is lost, stolen or damaged beyond economic repair, and insure the Equipment against such liability.
- You agree to properly maintain the Equipment during the period of the hire and to notify the MPS Store as soon as reasonably practicable if there is a problem with the operation of any item of Equipment.
- Any damaged or faulty item of Equipment should be returned to the MPS Store as soon as possible. In no circumstances should you proceed to repair any item of Equipment without our prior approval.
- You might be charged for faults caused by misuse wear and tear, accident or neglect.
- You shall not alter or modify the Equipment or use it for purposes for which it is not designed. Nor will you use it in connection with non-UEL use (clause 1).
